Songs were sung, prizes were distributed and a lot of merry was made.
On the 14th we visited Bala Vihar – a school for 125 special children. The children at this school melted our hearts. For a few we gave the outline of the pictures and they filled the colours. Participation certificates, tea, and chocolates were distributed to all the kids. Two winners received trophies. We also went to Gurukulam, our adopted school, and conducted the competition for 220 kids. The students performed a cultural program and this was followed by prize distribution by Area 2 chairman Sriram. Three winners received trophies
On the 17th, we went to Karpagavalli school. This is a government aided school for slum dwellers and coolie’s children. 65 students from 6th,7th and 8th participated. They were so creative in drawing with nice informative messages. We selected three students for special recognition and awarded two prizes. We also visited Sacred Heart tamil medium school where 82 students from 6th and 7th std participated and two talented children received Trophies .
We met 30 wonderfully special children at Deepam school on the 18th and 90 students from the Spastic School for Special Children. Lat but not the least for the TZP team was a visit to CSI Monahan school where we had 90 participants. Every child we met in this week long journey had something to teach us and touched us in some way or the other.
