We had the Fundraiser the raffle “LUCK BY CHANCE 2009” on the 20th September at the Duchess Utsav in Rani Meyammai Hall in Egmore. We had raised about 120 prizes worth Rs. 2, 25, 000/-. The tickets were priced at Rs.250/-. We had sold the tickets and raised money. The inauguration of the event was by Actress Suhasini Maniratnam and Actress Kushboo Actor Suresh.
We had good publicity among celebrities for our Ladies Circle India and MMLC#4. There were almost 4000 people who visited this exhibition. We had sold tickets here on the 19th and 20th September.
On the 20th evening after 5 PM. When there was a good crowd. We had started the draw. Area Chairperson Uma Aiyasamy pulled out the 1st lucky ticket for the raffle “ Luck by Chance” all the circlers and twinklers were given a chance. The first 3 bumper prizes were pulled out by our own past circle and past president RathiNelakandan and Managing Director of Savera Hotels. Past circler Nina Reddy.
Chairperson Selvi Mani thanked the duchess committee member for giving us the opportunity to conduct the raffle here. She also explained to the public about the project and community services conducted by the Ladies Circle India and Round Table. It was a great experience for all of us. We raised Rs.2, 25,000/- as gifts and funds raised by ticket sales was Rs.2, 20,000/-. The direct donations received for our MMLC#4 is Rs. 1, 05,000/-. A sum of Rs.5, 50,000/- was raised as a fundraiser.
