Welcome to our Website Our Chair Person's message – Cr. Selvi Mani (2009- 2010) This movement allows you discover yourself, your potentials and talents which you may not have realized. So let us Explore new horizons in community service and new vistas of Friendship and Fellowship. Let us Experiment new ways of rendering service to society, which can make even a small difference to people around us especially the needy. While exploring and experimenting we sure need to enjoy. So let us ultimately Enjoy the fellowships and bond with our circlers, fellow tablers and in the company of our Twinklers who are our future tablers and circlers. So my theme for the year will be
The Ladies Circle. Making a Difference: The Ladies Circle is a non-political and non-sectarian organization made up of the wives of members of Round Table. It offers opportunities for serving the community, for fostering and strengthening friendships between like-minded young women and helps create a better understanding of the obligations one owes to the society. The local club termed as "Ladies Circle" or simply "Circle" is the most important unit in the movement. The individual members of each Circle decide how they will serve their community. The circle alone determines the scope and limit of its activities. There is no pattern limiting this scope. The beginning of the circle... the Madras Mylapore Circle #4. The Ladies Circle movement first came to India in 1968. The wives of members of Round Table No.9 formed the first Circle in Coimbatore. The then Round Table India President, Krish Chitale presented the Charter in 1970. The National Association of Ladies Circle India was formed in 1970 with four member Circles and in the same year, became a full member of ladies Circle International. The Madras Mylapore Ladies Circle # 4 was chartered on 20th February 1970. We had a meaningful project with the president during her visit to area 2. It was planned for world Heart day n World Elders day. We gave a chq for Rs. 5000/- towards medication for heart patients to the “little sisters of the poor” which is a home for the aged all above the age of 60 yrs. We were all very touched when we saw the elders perform for us. After our project we had a special meeting in our Cr.Divyas place. CP.Selvi welcomed LCIndia President & ACP Uma for the meeting.
